hacktivism is back but Anonymous really isn't

I think this is possibly fake but...

It turns out hacktivism is back:

Anonymous however is kind of dead because the new people who claim to be Anonymous seem like skids to me (outside of people who are returning to hacktivism from before). But hacktivism as a movement is back.

Very interesting.

Has anyone here heard of this stuff?

Hacktivism was never dead, just not mainstream and "for the lulz"

Ok makes sense. But before today, most recent hacktivists were state-sponsored no? I'm talking about individuals doing it and not governments.

Ok. So basically there are individuals that do it but as a movement its over right? Like because this DDoSecrets seems to be a small Wikileaks type organization where hackers and whistleblowers can submit things. I read that many grey hats are submitting things that expose governments and corrupt corporations with political motives to DDoSecrets. If they are, its clearly a small group of people and it isn't a very loud group.

That said, would it be suffice to say that average citizens who aren't government workers doing hacktivism is over, at least for the time being?

Hi,

Thnak for the link, very interessting.

For me, the fact that the democracy level decrease in every major countries, and the climate warming that will end to kill us, people are trying new way to push corporations and govs to do the right thing..

In some other forum or discussion, hacking corporations and force them to stop doing shit is everywhere, I think a lot of people learned how to code during the lockdowns, HAHAHAHA.

Correct, however the state-sponsored ones are/were at least reasonably competent. A good example is GhostSec, which were a German state sponsored 'hacktivist' group. I put hacktivist in quotes because i have reason to believe they were getting intel from government connected operatives. When they were prominent they focused on taking down assets and infrastructure belonging to groups related to ISIS and other Muslim Extremist organizations.

Which is fine. However i have nothing but contempt for 'anonimoose' and their endless stream of faggotry.
