So you're a noob. Using a pentesting distro. I rest my case. What the fuck are you arguing about. I don't give a fuck if you use Kali or whatever the fuck you want. But don't fucking kid yourself. No one in the real fucking world who has any skills or experience, uses pentesting distros.

You just don't get it. There is no one fucking way to set up your environment, especially on linux. What works for me won't work for someone else. They won't use the same toolset, they won't use the same programming environments, they probably won't even agree on the same windowing system, core distro, etc.

Which is why distro's designed for the lowest common denominator (skids and noobs) suck for professionals, and why they always ultimately move away from them. bloated unstable crap that is designed for everyone is not conducive to your work process. You might be able to change and configure shit to some degree - but shit always works better in the long run if you start from nothing and add what you need, as opposed to starting with hundreds of unneeded packages and removing them.

Yeah, because there is no such thing as intermediary skill level, obviously. Also remember that one thread where we had a PHP dev that applied for a job in infosec? Remember why he didn't get the position? It was because he wasn't familiar with Kali. What's that now? A security job that makes use of Kali? Seeing as that is a real world example, you are obviously full of shit.

Now fuck off.

haha you're a fucking dumbass. That guy was a noob AND didn't know fuck all about Kali or even how to point and click on their apps. No fucking wonder he didn't get the job. Like get fucking real.

And I never said you couldn't get a job using kali. I know for a fact that there are services out there that will run a couple tools against your website, charge you 500+$, and tell you you're secure. But running a couple fucking tools you found on a pentesting distro doesn't make you a fucking hacker or a security expert.

You browse forums like this, and you see 'advanced' hackers and probably think, ah these guys are pretty good. I hang around and play wargames/CTFs (In real life even) with people from the likes of Trustwave/SpiderLabs, PwC, EY, Deloitte, Microsoft, RedHat... National Banks and Financial/Insurance companies, and so forth. And I learn shit all the time. These guys are all fucking amazing when it comes to security and hacking knowledge. You know what they have in common? It's not fucking kali linux. Some use Linux. Some use Macs, some use Windows even.

You know what they don't use? Kali fucking Linux.

So take your 'anecdote' about one noob without any real knowledge or experience and not even the ability to use kali as justification for it being a 'real world' requirement, and shove it straight where the sun don't fucking shine. Cause up your ass is about the only place it has value.

Man, I think we got the point, and you might be correct in saying that using an operating system with everything installed is not the perfect option but probably for someone who's starting can be a good point to use Kali or any security OS.
When you're starting you don't know anything and what you find on the internet is usually oriented to use them (talking from my own experience).

Also, I would like to tell you, that just like Vector said, you're a really knowledgeable user but in my opinion you should tell the things in a different way. It's just a suggestion and a personal point of view. You're kind of rude sometimes, and here, both of you are going way to far discussing this idea.

Which is exactly why i said they're for noobs and skids. He wanted to argue that point. It sounds like you're agreeing with me.

He posted the dumbest fucking excuse for why someone should not to use Kali. And I'm gonna point out when people say stupid stuff/make up bullshit. If that makes me an asshole, I don't fucking care. The biggest fucking problem on forums like these, are people like him, who don't know shit, making up crap as if they're an authority on the subject. And in my experience, the best way to stop people making up crap and talking out their ass, is to fucking publically humiliate them. Makes them think twice about what they post in the future. A simple "You're wrong" doesn't fucking do that.

Currently running that config lol, loving rice lately.
I discovered /r/unixporn and then I knew I had to try that haha

It's great for me, I don't like using the mouse much and i3 makes it very easy to work with Tongue
