You must follow this official rules for installing guest additions on Kali

https://docs.kali.org/general-use/kali-l...-box-guest

Also, the latest version of Virtualbox is 5.2.18. Try to install the newest version of Vbox first or update existing version, and after that follow the instruction from the link I posted. In short you have to enter this in terminal

apt-get update
apt-get install -y virtualbox-guest-x11
reboot

And you will have everything sorted as should with guest additions. Anyway I personaly prefer Backbox Linux much more instead of Kali, but that's only my choice and opinion.  Hope this will help.

I can see your problem, probably you didn't read careful the manual from link I've posted.

"You must use version 4.2.xx or higher of VirtualBox in order to take advantage of the improvements, including compatibility updates, and enhanced stability of both the core application and the Guest Additions."

You have tried the method for older Kali versions, which don't work anymore in the new versions (for example 2018.3)

From your previous screenshot's I see that you using Vbox v.5.2.6, and the latest version is 5.2.18. My suggestion is to update the VirtualBox itself first on your host machine, then VBoxGuest Additions, and after that run your Kali VM and in terminal

apt update && apt dist-upgrade
reboot

again after reboot

apt update
apt install -y virtualbox-guest-x11
reboot

After that, you will have everything running as should related to VBox and guest additions.

You have misspelling command, it's not "gues" it should be "guest".

apt install -y virtualbox-guest-x11
